  • About

Take on this 10 day trek for Blesma and climb above the clouds, whilst raising vital funds for our injured and limbless veterans.

Summit the highest point in Africa on an extraordinary adventure which will see you making your way through beautiful cloud forests, passing ridges and valleys and otherworldly, lunar landscapes towards the snow capped peaks of the Roof of Africa, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking sunrises, star-filled skies and far-reaching views across the wild plains of Tanzania.

This is a multi-day trek to significant altitude, led by experienced guides. You will need to be determined and resilient to face the sub-zero temperatures and very thin air of the mountain peak. Tough, but truly rewarding, this challenge will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

This trip is inclusive of accommodation, meals, flights, transport and more, so all you need to do is focus on the challenge ahead!

Fees and Fundraising

Fees are dependent on departure date and fundraising option chosen.

There are two fundraising options for this challenge, to provide you with the maximum possible flexibility.

Firstly pick the option that best suits you, these options are: Minimum Sponsorship which has a full fundraising target, or opt to Flexi Fund: pay some of your trip costs yourself, and cover the rest with a reduced fundraising target.

The registration fee for both options is £390 and your fundraising target will range from £3,600 - £4,990. This depends on your departure date and whether you choose the flexi fund or minimum sponsorship option.

Why fundraising for Blesma?

Blesma, The Limbless Veterans is dedicated to the support of all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, empowering them to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

We support our Members both young and old and their families, for life. Since WW1 Blesma has worked tirelessly to provide emotional, financial and practical support to those who continue to experience daily, the physical and mental impact of their life-changing injury. Blesma needs to raise more than £5 million in 2021 to continue this vital work, so fundraising such as this is important for us to be able to continue supporting our injured and limbless veterans.
